The Multi-County Master Gardeners met at 9 AM on 18 May 2016 at the Pottawatomie County Extension office. Donald Winslow spoke about May and June birds of Oklahoma.

Hackberry Flat Day was 16 April 2016. We were invited to Hackberry Flat WMA on that day to watch shorebirds and waterfowl.

On 6 February 2016 the Oklahoma Native Plant Society hosted an "indoor outing" on the subject "Monarchs, Pollinators, and Natives". The event was held from 9-3 at the OSU-OKC campus, 900 N. Portland in Oklahoma City. Here are the details and registration.

On 8 November 2014 we visited the Deep Fork National Wildlife Refuge. See this report.

We visited the Japanese Garden at the southeast corner of the Shawnee Airport at 1 PM on 4 October 2014. We assessed the potential for improving prairie bird habitat at the site. Notes from this visit are here.

We met at 6 PM on 30 September at the Shawnee Public Library. Agenda items included:
1) The National Audubon Society's fall campaign on birds and climate change.
2) A possible display at the library in conjunction with this campaign, and lastly
3) a fall trip to the Deep Fork Wildlife Refuge.

Deane and Becky Carlberg went to Hackberry Flat on 23 August for "Prairie at Night". Here is Becky's account of the trip.

We met at 9 am on 26 July 2014 at the Santa Fe Depot for a walk along the railway. A list of bird species observed is here.

We met at St. Gregory's University at 6 PM on Tuesday, 3 June 2014, to carpool to Lake Tecumseh. We looked at birds on the lake at 7, followed by a business meeting in the shelter at around 8 PM. Becky wrote an account of the outing on her blog, and Donald posted a list of the bird species we observed on the Deep Fork Audubon Society Bird Blog. Donald recorded the meeting minutes.

On 12 April 2014 Deane and Becky Carlberg exhibited Becky's artwork at the Art Trek at the Mabee-Gerrer Museum. Three Deep Fork members stopped by at different times. We decided to find a time for a spring outing. Send your suggestions for a date and place to watch birds to Deane.

Our annual meeting took place on 18 May 2013 at 6 PM in the Dodson Room in the basement of Benedictine Hall, at St. Gregory's University. At the meeting we elected officers and directors to serve on our Board. The Nomination Committee developed this slate of candidates. On 31 March 2012 from 2-4 PM at the Shawnee Public Library (Community Room A) we discussed strategies for creating urban bird habitat.

On 3 March we visited Shawnee Twin Lakes in the morning to look for waterfowl. We didn't see a lot of waterfowl, but we found a kingfisher nest. In the afternoon we met at the Shawnee Public Library to plan the program on urban bird habitat scheduled for the 31st. Here is the meeting agenda and here are minutes for 3 March.

We found one American Woodcock on our timberdoodling excursion at Sacred Heart on 18 February.

On 1 October Jona Tucker led a tour of the Pontotoc Ridge Preserve for the Deep Fork Audubon Society. Pontotoc Ridge is south of Ada and east of Sulphur. After lunch we had a brief business meeting "in the field". We developed three main goals for this fiscal year.
