Pontotoc Ridge Winter Bird Count

Today Deane and I went down to Pontotoc Ridge to assist with the Preserve’s winter bird count. Our team found these bird species:

Red-bellied Woodpecker
Northern Flicker
Red-headed Woodpecker
Downy Woodpecker

After lunch I helped with the group meadow-walk to survey grassland birds and got this fuzzy picture of a LeConte’s Sparrow!
