Lake Tecumseh, 21 September 2013

GREGLTecYesterday four of us visited Lake Tecumseh. The weather was beautiful, and we ran into several other birders enjoying the morning.

The lake levels were very high, so there wasn’t much habitat for shorebirds. There were not many ducks yet. Here is a list of the bird species we observed:

Blue-winged Teal
Great Egret
Great Blue Heron
Killdeer
Mourning Dove
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Downy Woodpecker
Pileated Woodpecker
Eastern Phoebe
Scissor-tailed Flycatcher
Blue Jay
American Crow
Barn Swallow
Tufted Titmouse
Carolina Chickadee
Carolina Wren
Eastern Bluebird
Northern Mockingbird
Lark Sparrow
Northern Cardinal
Brown-headed Cowbird
