Yesterday three of us walked up and down the railway in Shawnee, starting at the Santa Fe Depot. It was hot and sunny. Here is the list of bird species we observed:
Mississippi Kite
(chickens)
Mourning Dove
Yellow-billed Cuckoo
Chimney Swift
Downy Woodpecker
Red-bellied Woodpecker
Pileated Woodpecker
Great Crested Flycatcher
Blue Jay
American Crow
Red-eyed Vireo
Carolina Chickadee
Carolina Wren
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
American Robin
Northern Mockingbird
Gray Catbird
European Starling
Northern Cardinal
Indigo Bunting
Painted Bunting
Red-winged Blackbird
yellow billed cuckoo, lucky, we just don’t have them anymore.
I have all these and more at my feeder and in my yard. I have roadrunners, yellow warblers and phoebes and red bellied woodpeckers too. The birds have been simply miraculous this year, often raising two broods, and bringing them all to the feeder!
Hi, Donald ! I hope you and your family are happy and well – this site is under my wife’s name because our server disabled my facebook site – so we opened a site under my wife Beverly’s name – she is never on the computer, but we consider the site to be ours jointly – everything is entered by me. How many children do you have now ?
1 boy and another on the way!
