Lake Tecumseh 30 June 2012

On Saturday five of us visited Lake Tecumseh. Here’s what we observed:

at least 3 Great Blue Herons
at least 3 Great Egrets
5 Killdeer
at least 1 Mourning Dove
1 Red-shouldered Hawk
1 Yellow-billed Cuckoo
2 Red-bellied Woodpeckers
1 Downy Woodpecker
3 Scissor-tailed Flycatchers
Blue Jays
American Crows
Barn Swallows
Purple Martins
2 Carolina Chickadees
1 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
1 singing Bewick’s Wren
several Eastern Bluebirds (mostly juveniles)

Northern Mockingbirds
1 singing Brown Thrasher
4 European Starlings
2 singing Field Sparrows
1 singing Lark Sparrow
many Dickcissels
3 singing Indigo Buntings
2 singing Painted Buntings
1 singing Common Yellowthroat
